About River City Rover
Hi, my name is Kat French and I am the owner of River City Rover located in Richmond, Va. About four years ago I adopted Java, a wonderful little mixed breed puppy who had been abandoned in Forest Hill Park. First he won my heart and then he proceeded to change my life in many ways. Now he is my inspiration for starting my own dog walking and pet sitting business.For the last 12 years I have had a successful career as a computer professional in a Fortune 50 company. I worked on many interesting projects with many good people, but I knew it wasn’t what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. So, now I am finding out what it is like to jump full time into making a life doing what I love.
Inspired by the animals we care for, we strive to create a company that is compassionate, fun, exciting, (maybe a little silly), creative and innovative to work with. We will always be exploring new ways to enhance the people/pet bond and bring joy to our clients and their animal companions.

In addition we have opted to purchase a special endorsement to our insurance that provides broader coverage and includes losses such as breakage and damage. This provides greater protection for you and is solely for your benefit.We are insured by the Pet Sitters Insurance Program exclusively for members of Pet Sitters Associates, LLC.
