My dear friend has left me, passed on he did
You were happy and playful, just like a kid

Come home from work, you'd be at the door
Give you a treat, you'd just beg for more

I now face the time in which I'll grow older,
sadly without you, perched on my shoulder.

No longer in the window while outside it rains
The house now sits silent, but your fur still remains.
